ECU OFF-CAMPUS MASTER OF SOCIAL WORK PROGRAMS ANNOUNCED
Beginning in May, East Carolina University will offer two new off-campus programs leading to the master of social work degree. One program will be offered in Kenansville at James Sprunt Community College, serving Kenansville and surrounding areas. A second will begin in Rocky Mount with classes at the Area L AHEC Building.
Upon graduation of the current Wilmington and Elizabeth City off-campus cohorts in May 2004, a new cohort will begin in Elizabeth City and another cohort will begin serving Greenville and surrounding areas.
These programs are 60-hour, degree-focused programs, with classes offered on Saturdays through a variety of methods, including face-to-face, internet, and interactive television.
Requirements for admission into the programs include: A bachelor's degree from an accredited undergraduate institution; a minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale in all undergraduate work and a 3.0 for the senior year; a satisfactory score on either the Miller Analogies Test or the Graduate Record Examination and a broad-based liberal arts foundation with a minimum of six courses in basic social and behavioral science.
