Film festival set for April

The Departments of Communication and English at ECU are proud to present the 1st annual Blu Moon Film and Video festival.

The evening is set for April 11 at 7 p.m. in Bate 1031 Screening Auditorium on East Carolina campus.

Not only are local students and community members welcomed to showcase their works, but entries from across the state will be accepted as well. Submission deadline is April 4.

There are no entry fees, prizes or placement awards. It is an evening to enjoy the purity of filmmaking and the fellowship of others. It is a great opportunity to view your work on the big screen with a quality surround sound theater system.

All genres are welcomed, including documentaries, dramas, music videos, artistic, PSAs and commercials.

Guidelines are as follows:

  • All works must be turned in on VHS tape.
  • All works will be viewed prior on submission, and a committee will notify the sender on its acceptance.
  • No works over ten minutes please.
  • If there are any persons who submit audio works, an opening for exhibition and display will be allowed with prior contact.
  • There will also be 3 screenplay-excerpted readings/reenactments to correspond with this event spread out in between the viewings.

The short readings will be hand selected from East Carolina Screenplay writing courses, and audience participation/feedback will be allowed for 5 minutes. Refreshments will be served.
