Dosser named athletics representative
Dr. David Dosser, professor and director of the Marriage and Family Therapy Program at East Carolina University, has been named faculty athletics representative, effective July 1.
Dosser has a long-standing involvement in athletics at the university, most recently as chair of the Equity, Welfare and Sportsmanship portion of the 2000-2002 NCAA Certification Self-Study.
The university is required by NCAA regulations to have a faculty athletics representative, and the person in that position deals with matters of academic integrity, student-athlete welfare, and institutional control. In addition, the representative chairs the University Athletics Committee and serves on search committees for head coaches in varsity sports.
Dosser, who was appointed by Chancellor William V. Muse, will succeed Dr. Trenton Davis, professor of environmental health sciences and safety, who will retire from ECU this summer.
